Sense Defence DNS Records

Sense Defence DNS Records

Once your site is successfully integrated with Sense Defence, it becomes essential to adjust your website's DNS records. By doing so, you will direct your site's traffic through the Sense Defence anycast network, ensuring optimal protection and performance.

Follow the steps below to configure your DNS records correctly:

1. A Record Configuration:

Direct your primary domain (e.g., mydomain.com) to the IP addresses provided by Sense Defence. Notably, Sense Defence furnishes two distinct A Records to guarantee redundancy. It is crucial to configure both these records for your primary domain.

Info
For other A Records associated with non-HTTP/S services (examples: ftp.mydomain.com or mail.mydomain.com), ensure they continue to point to your original web server. Do not redirect them to Sense Defence. In other words, maintain their current settings in the DNS Zone file.

2. CNAME Record Configuration:

For the complete domain of your site, which includes any subdomain prefixes like www.mydomain.com or subdomain.mydomain.com, either create or update the CNAME Record. Ensure it points to the domain specified by Sense Defence.

Notes
Always double-check your configurations to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance with Sense Defence. If you encounter any challenges or require further assistance, our support team is here to help.
